As I sat on my bed reminiscing about life and my various escapades I’ve had, a question kept popping up in my mind. What is LOVE
After doing some research by asking friends and reading about it. Everyone seems to relate it to a connection between two or more people. I read varied definitions whilst others seem to have no idea what this abstract word ‘LOVE’ means to them. Before I tell you my own meaning of love, I will like to share some views I discovered in my quest to seek the meaning of love mean?
Here they are;
Kwesi:‘To me, love means coming home to a full fridge and lots of hugs from family’
Melisa-‘Love is messy, scary, anxiety-ridden…and as important as oxygen’
Alvin – ‘A sense of understanding’
Ama – ‘Stress, self-inflicted pain, worries and above all a retrogressive pill’
Eva – ‘Ready to sacrifice and be there for one another’
Francine-‘The feeling when you love that special person or something you cannot live without’
‘love is rigid and crucial to endure life’
Interesting right? My search wouldn’t have been complete without me going into the most read book in the world; The Bible. This is what the Bible says about love.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New International Version (NIV)
